The Latest Updates

The Thomson-East Coast Line is now fully open following the completion of Stage 4 on June 23, 2024. This milestone extends the line’s reach into eastern regions, enhancing connectivity and providing passengers with more convenient travel options.

TEL Stage 5, including the Bedok South and Sungei Bedok stations, is set to be completed in 2026.

Stage 1: Up North

Woodlands North, the northern terminus of the TEL, resembles the top of a lollipop on a stick. Trains depart frequently from here, whisking passengers to Woodlands South in just 9 minutes. With trains arriving every 3 minutes, the station, which opened on January 31st, 2020, offers convenient and frequent service.

Stage 2: Parks and Eats

Nestled near Upper Thomson Road, Springleaf Station is a nature lover’s dream, surrounded by reservoirs, a park, and plenty of eateries. It’s conveniently connected to Caldecott South in just 13 minutes, part of the new Downtown Line 3 extension that launched on August 28, 2021, adding six stations from Springleaf to Caldecott.

Stage 3: Almost Completed!

The TEL’s newest stage, spanning 13 stations from Mount Pleasant to Gardens by the Bay, opened on November 13th, 2022. However, Mount Pleasant station itself and Marina South remain under wraps, awaiting the completion of surrounding residential and commercial developments. Enjoy a quick 17-minute ride from Stevens to Gardens by the Bay on this new line.

Located in the Kallang planning area, Tanjong Rhu is part of the TEL’s new section, which opened on June 21st, 2024. This 10km stretch, originating from Bedok South, features eight stations: Tanjong Rhu, Katong Park, Tanjong Katong, Marine Parade, Marine Terrace, Siglap, Bayshore, and finally, Bedok South.

Stage 5: Future Proofing

Bedok South on Upper East Coast Road is under development and will be ready to ride by 2026. This new station will bring proper train access to the area, with a convenient 1km connection to Sungai Bedok, the next stop. The final stage of the project only includes these two stations, ensuring efficient connectivity for the community.
