Public ferries offer budget-friendly travel, but it’s wise to purchase tickets in advance for the most favorable fares. Research different ferry companies, as quality can vary. Aim to arrive an hour early to secure prime seating.

Speedboats offer a faster, more thrilling experience. Booking a few days in advance is recommended to secure your spot. Private charters are perfect for larger groups, offering flexibility. For a stress-free adventure, all-inclusive tours are available, covering your journey from Phuket to Phi Phi.

1. From Bangkok or Chiang Mai

The quickest way to get to Koh Phi Phi from Chiang Mai or Bangkok is by flying. However, if flying is too expensive, take a night train to Surat Thani and then a bus or minivan to Krabi. From Krabi, you can catch a boat to Phi Phi. If flying is still your preferred option, consider flying directly to Krabi airport. While Phuket Airport is an alternative, it could take longer to reach your destination.

2. From Krabi Airport

Upon arrival at Krabi Airport, head to Klong Jirad Pier. From there, take a ferry or speedboat to Koh Phi Phi. If you arrive early from Bangkok or Chiang Mai, you can reach your hotel in Phi Phi on the same day.

3. From Krabi Town

To reach the Klong Jirad Pier from Krabi Town, it will take you no more than 15 minutes and cost €7 at most. The journey can be completed by taxi or even on foot, taking around 45 minutes from the Crab Monument.

Take a ferry from Krabi’s Klong Jirad Pier to Ton Sai Pier.

Catch a ferry from Krabi’s Klong Jirad Pier to Ton Sai Pier on Phi Phi, a scenic journey of 1.5 to 2 hours. Ferry tickets cost around €15 per person. Multiple ferries operate daily, with the first departing at 9 AM and the last at 4 PM (4 PM on Fridays).

5. From Ao Nang

Reaching Koh Phi Phi from Ao Nang is easy with a ferry departing from Noppharat Thara Pier, just outside the town center. A songthaew (shared taxi) is the cheapest option, costing around €1.50 per person to the pier. Taxis are readily available and take about fifteen minutes, costing roughly double the songthaew price. The ferry departs daily at 9:30 AM and takes two hours. A one-way ticket costs €12 per person.

6. From Phuket
